Обложки зарубежных изданий очень радуют глаз своим разнообразием стилей. Ну почему Максима все книги по ДЛ издаёт в таких "стандартизированных" переплётах и с сильно подпорченной графикой? Я уже не говорю про издания по ФР, которые вообще лепятся по одному образцу
Что мешает просто взять и переписать название на зарубежной обложке?

Наверное потому же, почему у нас Янтарь и Пепел назвали Дарами Мертвых Богов...
Издание литературы по Забытым Королевствам и Драгонлансу - вообще очень болезненная тема. Я, лично, все больше и больше склоняюсь к тому, что нужно приобретать англоязычную литературу, что позволит не только не мучить себя, но и не поддерживать национального халтурщика.
Вообще Азбука в последнее время сильно испортилась. У меня до сих пор лежат томики, изданные по Равенлофту в середине 90-ых - оригинальная обложка, прекрасный перевод.
А сейчас...увы.

Кстати, внутри Бестиария не все картинки хороши и более того - некоторые крайне отвратны)
Надо бы им подтягивать планку.

Paizo не остались в одиночестве. WotC отказались также взобновлять лицензию Margaret Weis Productions на Dragonlance.

The Dragonlance RPG License has been a labor of love for me and my staff throughout the term of our agreement with Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro. Our goal in creating Dragonlance game product has always been to give the long-time fan quality material that supports our vision for Dragonlance while attracting a new audience to this epic world. Our agreement has come to term and is not being renewed. We will be releasing new Dragonlance RPG product through the end of this year and then will step back from our association with Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro.

Margaret Weis Productions is thrilled to be associated with incredible properties such as Serenity, Battlestar Galactica, and Supernatural. Our latest endeavor is a collaboration with Tracy Hickman in the development of our new world -- Dragonships of the Vindras -- an epic series featuring Viking-like warriors, three opposing groups of Gods, ships powered by dragons, and the ultimate quest for salvation and survival through recovery of the Five Bones of the Vektan Dragons. Так… ну а прочие авторы, творящие в серии Dragonlance, остаются после этого события? Данная лицензия касалась только Маргарет Вейс?
А то все-таки не хочется, чтобы для ДЛ была уготована такая же кончина, как для Planescape’a, Birthright’a и подобных прекрасных сеттингов. В любом случае данный ход означает о всё нарастающем охлаждении ВоТК ко всему Dragonlance’y.

Боюсь, что Драгонланс может повторить судьбу Равенлофта(
Ситуация уж больно похожа - сначала торговую марку продали Белым Волкам...а потом, сотрудничество прекратилось (правда там сами Белые Волки вернули брэнд...из-за банального отсутствия прибыли). Таким образом, у нас фактически прекращается развитие сеттинга в ролевом плане - Расы Ансалона, судя по всему, будут последним продуктом. Правда еще более неприятно, что становится непонятной ситуация с художественной литературой - ибо если сеттинг не развивается, то нет особенно резона выпускать художку. Разве только что Драгонланс может спасти более раскрученный брэнд и большее число поклонников, хотя ситуация действительно остается подвешенной.

Судя по всему, Dragonlance переиздаваться под четвёртую редакцию уже не будет. Если принять во внимание скорый выход оной, то мы действительно наблюдаем конец официальной истории сеттинга
Но зато мы получим принципиально новый сеттинг, что есть тоже гуд.

Достаточно простая логика - дабы не клепать себе конкурентов.
Белые Волки именно из-за этого свернули Равенлофт и вернули лицензию Волшебникам - им не нужна была конкуренция Новому Миру Тьмы.
А относительно присутствия/отсутствия бумажных книг...хороший вопрос. Я сам, честно говоря, не знаю.
Если будут одни электронки - то будет грустно( Я бы, пожалуй, даже честно разорился бы на D&D 4th Edition в печати...
P.S. Да, предлагаю перейти на обсуждение 4-ой в Ролевой раздел - сейчас открою там тему.

DL не умрет прежде всего из-за большого количества поклонников. Кто может запретить в это играть тем, у кого есть книги, рулбуки и прочее? Кто запретит читать и перечитывать книги? Кто запретит писать свое и вывешивать в электронном виде? А то, что мир не будет больше развиваться силами официальных авторов, то я могу только вздохнуть с облегчением. Ибо в последнее время авторы вели мир явно куда-то не туда
Так что, сеттинг умер, да здаравствует Кринн!

Кстати. ДЛ был же одно время закрыт и ничего официального по нему долго не выпускалось (или я ошибаюсь? Статейки из Драгона не в счет). Так вот - выходила ли художка в том момент? По Саге, разумеется.

This is an open invitation to submit articles, recipes, holy artifacts, and magical items (scrolls, potions, artifacts etc) for consideration for inclusion in the book. Requirements for submission are given below. Please follow them!

Aesthetic Trampas Whiteman is going to be compiling the material and reviewing submissions, along with the MWP staff. Space is limited, so we will not be able to include all submissions, but we'll try to use as many as possible.

In order to celebrate the Dragonlance movie, Leaves III will be set during the War of the Lance. All material should be set during this time period with the exception of the holy artifacts (see below).

Articles: If you would like to write an article about a person, place, or thing relating to the War of the Lance, please submit a one paragraph idea to (trampas@dragonhelm.net) with 'Leaves' in the subject line. Deadline for idea submissions is May 25, 2007. Deadline for final article is August 1, 2007. We will pay $.03 per word for articles used in the book. Please note that payment does not extend to other sections.

Holy Artifacts: During the War of the Lance, an Aesthetic in the library made an amazing discovery: a catalog of the confiscated artifacts placed in the Hall of Sacrilege prior to the Cataclysm. Descriptions of holy artifacts should be one page in length. Include the history of the artifact, as well as what it does and what it looks like. Don't worry about game stats. We can add those if necessary. We already have artifacts from Paladine and Takhisis, so please create artifacts sacred to the other gods. Submission deadline is August 1, 2007. All those whose descriptions are used in the book will receive credit in the book. No limit on number of submissions. Send to (trampas@dragonhelm.net).

Magical Objects: Magical items could have been created in previous ages, but should now be in use during the War of the Lance. Хотя, последняя книга...
Грустно...но можно было ожидать именно этого. Драгонлансу в этом плане всегда был свойственным смех сквозь слезы.
Конец Драгонланса по AD&D - и поразительно красивые Листья из Последнего Приюта. Еще те самые, первые...
А вместе с ними Dwarven Kingdoms of Krynn - одна из лучших книг из всей линейки.
Потом Пятая Эра...и New Leaves from the Inn of the Last Home - кстати, сказать, единственный рулбук по Драгонлансу, которого у меня нет, и который я не могу нигде найти. Но при этом любимый даже на расстоянии.
И вот теперь...Третьи Листья.
Странные эмоции вообще. Хотя мне почему-то кажется, что по-другому и быть бы не могло...
P.S. Да, скорее всего будет продолжение Янтаря и Железо - Янтарь и Кровь (Amber&Blood)

Не сможет Драгонлэнс истории уйти в небытиё бесследно. Всё-таки комплитов и художественной литературы по этому сеттингу было издано не в пример больше, чем по плейнскейпу или равену. Да и не стоит забывать, что совсем недавно Кринн превосходил по своей популярности Забытые Королевства на всей территории бывшего Союза. Люди продолжат играть, перечитывать; я почти уверен, что фэны будут писать дальше историю Кринна.
Судя по всему, сейчас очень удачный момент для закупки ДЛ-продуктов на амазоне.

Возьмём для примера Грейхоук. Продуктов по этому миру не выпускали давно, но из-за того, что этот мир является базовым для сообщества РПГА, жизнь там кипит. Возможно, Кринн ждёт та же судьба.

Иллюстрации-то неплохи, но я новой информации не нашел почти. Более того, я и всей старой не нашел - а так надеялся, что наконец-то будет книга с нормальной компиляции информации. Я пока эльфов более или менее подробно прочитал и меня несколько...покоробило - особенно куцые пассажи по истории, в которых почти ничего нет (ни первых двух Драконьих, ни эльфийских народов в войне Копья в нормальном изложении), ни божеского описания истории Пятой Эры. Описания психологических портретов - те еще - Сильванести какие-то злобные расисты (несмотря на то, чтобы все эльфийские народы теоретически относятся к наиболее яркому Добру на Кринне) (угу...почему-то никто так и не вспомнил хотя бы о совместном эльфийско-кендерском наступлении в Кендерморе во время Войны Копья, когда Черное Крыло выбили) Пожалуй, только понравились описания боевой тактики Сильванести и более или менее подробный анализ ситуации с Искателями Путей. Но все равно как-то не слишком-то сразило.

Начали в Sovereign Press за здравие, кончили за упокой. Я по правде говоря, даже не предполагал, что последние книги по DL D20 будут такими слабыми. Что касается появления Драконов Кринна, то было бы логично завершить этот этап развития сеттинга подобной книгой.

Гм...ну предпредпоследняя - Legends of Twins, на мой взгляд была одной из лучших, которые вообще издавали по Лэнсу, хотя и со своими косяками. Очень хороши были Башни Высокого Волшебства...хотя та же War of the Lance не слишком тоже поразила. Рыцарские Ордена Кринна - предпоследняя изданная книга - была неплоха...действительно очень даже. Легион Стали в кои веки божески расписали. Поэтому честно говоря не знаю, что ждать от Драконов...

Жестко облилился слюной, узрев оформление превьюшки. В оглавлении, правда, больше всего заинтеерсовали вторая и третья книги - в первой, пожалуй, самыми интересными будут вопросы с мифами о создании драконов и правила по истинным именам. Зато много вкусного явно планируется по Драконидам...о Теурах я что-то слышал, но давно и мало, да и о Бакали тоже можно побольше написать.
Еще порадовало вступление Сальваторе и грядущие Заметки Эстетиков .
P.S. Ммм...ну как оформили, конечно. Уже хочется поставить на полку, честно говоря...

Особенно Всадники Ветра - киратов хорошо расписали...а вот этим в Расах не повезло)

Не знаю как вам, а мне это не очень нравится. Существует красивое законченное произведение, сюжет которого известен практически всем. Но вот создают модуль и дают возможность "переиграть" роман в собственном стиле. Декорации вроде те же, но поведение персонажей может, да и должно, в корне отличаться. Иначе будет совсем не интересно: игра напомнит чтение книжки вслух.
