This type of character is of a rapidly chaning, "shifting" personality which makes it hard to predict his true motives and thoughts at the each single moment of the story. Damon suffers simultaneously from both physical pain and, what is more, from the constant lack of self-detemination as well that makes him a sort of character that is certainly not an exemplary one.
